Worksop Town
could face suspension from their fixtures, if money owed to a former
player is not paid this month.The FA issued a statement today
confirming that Worksop
Town have been barred from signing new players over non payment of
midfielder Steve Robinson.
The FA said: "The club was yesterday
placed under an immediate embargo on all player registrations for
failure to pay Steve Robinson contractual salary due."
"The club
was found guilty of breach of FA Rule E.1 (f) for failing to carry out
an instruction of the FA and warned as to future conduct."
"If
player does not receive cleared funds by 5pm on 23rd Oct Worksop Town
Football Club will be suspended from all fixtures until payment is
made."
The club issued a statement earlier today confirming that
cash flow problems have led to a delay in the payment of staff and
players, and confirmed the transfer embargo.
